Affordable Housing Shines in Fairburn

posted by URE on January 14, 2010

The sun is shining on Fairburn Georgia as Arcadia at Parkway Village reaps the benefits of their new solar array. The first solar array to be installed on affordable housing in Georgia is producing power for their leasing office. It is visible from their pool and draws questions from curious residents. “We invested in solar so that we could save money on our power bills and continue to be leaders in affordable housing sustainable design.  As a result of our investment in solar energy, our property operations will have lower energy bills, but more importantly Ambling Development Partners will continue to be environmental stewards in all of our development communities.” stated Torian Priestly, Vice President of Development for Ambling Development Partners.

Alpharetta based United Renewable Energy (URE) developed the Arcadia project as a pilot for other developments throughout Ambling’s portfolio. “Being able to own their power outright gives this affordable housing development a real chance for success.” said William Silva, President of URE and their leading NABCEP certified solar installer.
